Hunting & Fishing Rules
1. Licences, Permissions & Legal Compliance
All guests must carry a valid a NSW Recreational Fishing Licence for fishing.
Hunting/fishing on private or public land requires compliance with all state laws and local regulations.
Guests must follow any written permissions or restrictions provided by lodge management.
By booking, guests agree to abide by both lodge rules and state/federal legislation.
Hunting or fishing outside the boundaries of the property is strictly prohibited.
2. Terrain & Safety Conditions
The property is steep, rugged, rocky, and unforgiving. Only physically capable guests should attempt off-track activities.
Attend the mandatory safety briefing before participating in hunting, fishing, or exploring.
Mobile reception may be poor; PLBs or satellite phones are required and available for hire.
Always notify staff before venturing alone into the bush.
Alcohol or drug use is prohibited while handling hunting gear or operating vehicles.
Guests must carry personal first aid kits when exploring or hunting.
A property map is available for download showing your location and key areas. Please ensure you download it before or upon arrival.
3. Hunting Rules
Only approved hunting methods are permitted (bow-hunting only).
Game must be processed in the lodge’s designated meat-processing and freezer facilities; no off-site processing without prior permission.
Exclusion zones (near buildings, tracks, water sources, or sensitive habitats) must be respected.
Use ethical hunting practices: take only clear shots, avoid wounding animals, and retrieve all game.
4. Fishing Rules
Fishing gear must comply with state regulations.
Follow lodge guidance for fishing access; some areas may be steep, rocky, or unsafe.
Keep all fishing areas clean and free of litter, including hooks or lines.
No bait fishing allowed
Catch and release is strictly enforced — handle all fish with care and return them to the water unharmed
All lures must be at least 100 mm long to protect smaller fish.
Barbs must be flattened or crushed to ensure safe handling and release.
Fishing Season: 1 December to 31 August
5. Environmental & Conservation Rules
Guests must respect native flora and fauna; no plant or wildlife removal unless legally permitted.
Stay on designated tracks where possible to reduce erosion and protect sensitive areas.
No off-track vehicles or ATVs unless specifically authorised.
Minimise noise and disturbance — hunting/fishing lodges rely on a quiet environment for wildlife.
Firewood must be sourced on-site; no cutting live trees.
Guests are encouraged to report pest animals, injured wildlife, or unusual sightings to staff.
6. Lodge Conduct & Guest Behaviour
Respect all lodge staff, other guests, and property neighbours.
Excessive drinking, unsafe behaviour, or harassment will not be tolerated.
Fires must be controlled, supervised, and comply with NSW fire regulations.
Pets are prohibited unless approved by management; wildlife can pose risks.

7. Equipment & Vehicle Rules
All vehicles must stay on designated tracks; off-road driving is only allowed with prior permission.
Hunting/fishing vehicles must not chase or harass wildlife.
Gear must be well-maintained; defective weapons and bows are prohibited.
All personal equipment is the responsibility of the guest.
8. Emergency Procedures
Guests must familiarise themselves with emergency exits, muster points, and first aid stations.
Injuries, lost guests, or wildlife incidents must be reported immediately.
Severe weather conditions may require cancellation or relocation; follow lodge instructions at all times.
9. Insurance & Liability
Guests are strongly advised to hold personal travel, medical, and accident insurance covering remote bush activity.
Jimargie lodge is not responsible for personal injury, illness, theft, death or property damage unless caused by gross negligence.
Guests must disclose any medical conditions that may affect participation in hunting, fishing, or bush activities.
10. Breach of Rules
Violations of lodge rules or Australian law may result in immediate removal from the property without refund.
Serious breaches may be reported to NSW authorities.
Management reserves the right to refuse service or future bookings to any guest deemed unsafe or disruptive.
